David Heslett

David is a Civil Engineer who has been engaged in all aspects of the international construction industry, from feasibility, design & supervision to contract manager & director. He has worked in 25 countries and been responsible as the Contractor for over 200 FIDIC Contracts. He was Managing Director/Director of major International Construction companies providing insight as to how to achieve successful construction projects for the Employer & the Contractor.

He created in 1993 ECV Consultancy Ltd to provide training for the international construction sector focussed initially on Central & Eastern Europe
He created in 2000 the Modular form of FIDIC Contract training based on the 1999 Contracts & now the 2017 Contracts. His Modules were adopted by FIDIC in 2002 as their standard & have jointly presented courses in 92 countries to over 30,000 professionals including all major MDBs.

The ECV courses emphasise the practical use of the FIDIC Contracts to avoid disputes. The ECV courses are comprehensive with work exercises & case studies to fully engage those wishing to successfully work with FIDIC Contracts.

He has recently created a practical course on the 2021 FIDIC Short Form Contract which may be considered a mini 1999/2017 Construction Contract.
